Supershakes ingredients

If you’ve been reading my blog, then you’ll have seen that I often add organic superfood powders to my meals and supershakes in order to increase my nutrititional intake.


I already eat a balanced diet so why should I bother with superfood supplements…


I have been adding superfood powders or so-called “powerfoods” to my diet for a while now, especially as seen as the quality of the food that we eat in the Western World seems to be decreasing all the time. Even if you are buying wholefoods from the supermarket, the quality of the food is reaching an all time low due to mass production and the usage of pesticides and growth hormones etc.  Plus, all around us are various marketing campaigns telling us what to do and what we should and shouldn’t eat and I know that they are not always telling us the full story about the content of the food as a lot of them are processed.  For example, I do not always agree that you should eat special “diet” foods as they may be lower in fat and sugar but those fats and sugars have usually been raplaced with artificial substances, for example artificial sweetener, which could be linked to cancer.


By adding nutrient-rich powerfoods that are full of antioxidants to your diet, you can actually counteract the damage caused by oxygen free radicals and low-quality foods and actually tailor-make your own diet to satisfy your bodys needs. If we can learn how to drop certain foods due to allergies, why can’t we learn how to add a superfood in order to fight off a disease?



Would I benefit from adding superfood powders to my diet or is it just another fad?


One thing that “Naturya” superfood powders should not be used for is a subsititute for a balanced diet or any other fad diets. In my opinion diets do not work as they do not teach you how to eat long term because most diets involve eating foods that you would normally eat and when you’ve finished the diet you go back to the previous way of eating so if you do a bit of exercise and eat a portion controlled, balanced diet of wholefoods you will not need to go on a diet to lose weight.


If you can, you should eat fresh organic produce wherever possible and then add some of these “Naturya” organic superfoods such as Chlorella, Spirulina, Maca, Hemp, Barleygrass and Acai etc to your recipes. Don’t worry about using powders as they are equally as good for you and if you’re like me, there’s no way you’ll have time and space to grow enough of them. For example, if I was to grow wheatgrass, I would need to grow fields of it and buy an expensive specialized juicer to squeeze the small amount of juice out of the grass! Organic superfood powders contain just as many nutrients so there’s really nothing wrong with going for the easy option.
